CHANCE Adopted! Chance, full name Second Chance, was rescued by Guardian Angel
Pet Rescue in |
|
ANNIE Adopted! Hi, my name is Annie. Me and my
children were rescued from going to the shelter by a couple of nice angels.
I had a couple of older children and then a new litter of nine puppies.
It was a tall order, but they took us into the Guardian Angel family.
My two older girls, Ms Wayne and Ms Spot are in a foster home together.
They have come a long way, since they were very un-socialized. My
newer babies had a better start and most of them have found wonderful homes.
Now, it is time for me to go out on my own. I would make a wonderful
companion and am very anxious to find a place of my own. I am spayed,
up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative.

rescued from a shelter in Arkansas with one of her puppies who was adopted
in January. She has a gentle personality and is very sweet dog. She is
wonderful with other dogs and people of all ages. She is a cuddler and
pretty laidback for her breed. Adele is spayed, heartworm negative, and
up-to-date on her vaccinations. She would make a wonderful forever
companion.

JACKIE ADOPTED!
My name is Jackie. I am a two to three year old terrier mix. I weight
about 8 lbs. I am spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative
and just had a dental. I am very sweet and quiet, but I can take care of
myself. I guess it is true that dynamite comes in small packages. I get
along with other dogs - don't want to share my bowl - I do draw the line
there. But I love to play with my foster siblings. I am great with all
people. I am definitely a lap dog. I will go out and go to potty as long
as you are persistent with me.

Stevie Ray ADOPTED! Stevie Ray is an 8 lbs. Toy Fox Terrier. His military family transferred overseas and they would not take him. He is an energetic little guy and loves to play with the other dogs at his foster home. These dogs range from 7 lbs. to 89 lbs. He gets along with all, including the cat. He stands around 10 to 11 inches at the shoulder. Stevie Ray has been neutered and is up-to-date on all shots. He is less than 2 years. He is crate-trained and so far seems to do very well on the house training. His tail was not docked and curls sooo cute over his back all the time. Please come to meet him at an adoption day or contact us for an arranged meeting. Stevie Ray is much cuter in person. You will not be able to resist him if you are looking for a small entertaining lap dog. A family with children would be nice as he seems to really like children.

JUNE with her new owner LEO June is a two year old female mixed breed - possibly Rottweiler/Shepherd/Husky. She was found as a stray and surrendered to Animal Emergency Clinic. She is very mellow, kennel-trained and quiet. The staff at Animal Emergency Center has fallen in love with her and would love to see her find a wonderful home. They cannot keep her indefinitely due to limited space. June weighs about 50 lbs. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and will be spayed before going to her new home.

PEYTON ADOPTED! Peyton is a very charming 1 year old male mixed-breed. He has a short haired golden brown coat with black markings and a white tummy which he loves to have rubbed. He weighs 47 lbs, has a boxer build, a shepherd face, and a curly sharpei tail. He is strong and rambunctious and loves attention. He is friendly to all, but might play too roughly for a small child or an older person. He seems to be mainly housebroken. He would be great with older kids who could play with him in a well fenced-in yard. Fostered by: Natalie Sherman

Honey Homas ADOPTED!
Honey
is a wonderfully sweet, beautiful young female mix with a unique red and black
coat. She weighs 30 pounds is
housetrained, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and spayed. Honey
was a lucky stray that happened to wander up to the right house and had her
pups under that house (her beautiful litter is also available for adoption.) When
first discovered Honey was very unsocialized but
after a little work and love from the homeowner she is now very social. Honey
has no issues; she is very submissive and gentle and gets along well with
other dogs and children. If you
are looking for a sweet, low maintenance dog then you have found her.

CHARLES ADOPTED!
Charles was rescued before ever entering the Tipton Shelter thanks to a lady
picking up two other dogs for us. He is such a cute little boy! We believe
he has some Shepherd in him, but not sure what else. Time will tell. He
went to a new foster home yesterday and if he is not good with cats now, he
will be. He got his first set of shots and was de-wormed yesterday. We are
estimating him at about 5 weeks old. Charles would make a great family
companion.

Keefer ADOPTED! Hi! I'm a cute beagle-mix puppy named Keefer. I'm about 15 weeks old and have red fur with white socks, tummy and tail. I'm a sweet little guy who loves to give kisses and snuggle with my foster family. Of course, I also love wrestling and napping with my sister, Keena, receiving belly rubs and puppy treats, and playing with other dogs and people. Chew toys are great fun, too, especially since I'm teething. I've just started learning basic commands, but I'm a smart boy and am motivated by treats. Despite my love of cuddling, I've still got lots of energy so will want a yard to romp in and someone to walk me and play with me. Fostered by: Paula Hildebrandt

TESS ADOPTED! My name is Tess! I am about 2 years old & weigh 30-35 lbs. I’m up to date on shots, HW negative, spayed, crate & house trained. I get along well with other dogs and with kids also. I do get excited; however, I’m mostly calm, laid back, & easy going. I love chasing a tennis ball & will bring it back. I know my name and how to sit. I am a little skeptical of loud noises. I would make the great companion and am patiently waiting for my forever home.

COLE ADOPTED! This beautiful boy is Cole and his is an owner neglect story. Cole’s owner believed he could make some money by breeding Cole and hopefully passing on his unique markings and easy going temperament. Unfortunately a health issue has made breeding impossible for Cole so his owner decided to keep him around as a punching bag. Thankfully that is behind him and Cole is now living the good life with his foster family. Cole lives with other dogs and cats and loves them all, so we can put that pit-bull myth to rest. He is kennel trained and housebroken and will soon be neutered. He is a big mush of a dog and loves to lay on the couch with his foster mom. Cole has been the epitome of sweet and cuddly since coming to his new home and would make a great addition to any family. Photo by Renee Scott Photography |

CUPCAKE ADOPTED! Cupcake is a lab mix. She is 1 yr old & 21 inches at the shoulders. She weighs 50 lbs & is spayed . She is on heartworm preventive & is heartworm negative. She is up to date on vaccines. My foster mother named me Cupcake because she wanted everyone to know that I am a very sweet girl. I know just because I am a black dog people may pass me up but I am full of many colors in my personality just like sprinkles on cupcakes. I am very smart & catch on quick. I, love children & other dogs. I even get along with cats. Loves to ride in the car, go to Petco, you could even board me while on vacation and I will just think I am at a sleep over. I don't understand why someone just dumped me out in a neighborhood to fend for myself. I just love people male or female. I get along with men and women. I am crate trained & house trained. DAKOTA ADOPTED! Dakota is a 2 year old female lab mix who will be homeless very soon. Due to divorce her human mom is moving in with her parents and dogs are not allowed there; so Dakota and her sister Star have to find a forever home or foster home before the move date. She is leash trained, up to date on shots and heartworm negative. She was recently treated for heartworms so she has not been spayed yet but will be soon. Dakota is very sweet, loving and would love to jog and have a family to call her own.

BELLA BLUE ADOPTED! Bella Blue is full of energy and loves to play and chew. She plays well with other dogs but can be a little rough at times, so she would probably do better with kids and bigger dogs. She does cry sometimes when she is apart from her Foster Parents, otherwise she is a regular happy go lucky puppy. Photo by Renee Scott Photography

BUNGEE Adopted! Bunge is a Min-pin mix. We call him Bungee because he is like a rubber ball- bouncy! He is VERY sweet, will go into his kennel now with no fight, has had no accidents in the house, loves to lick your face (and dinner plates on the table, so we're working with him on not jumping into the chairs) He is a good boy, who will be a great protector, he is already protective of us and our home, just the short time he's been here. He will bark at strangers that come into the house, but will lick them to death when he realizes that it's ok for them to be there! He will bark at doorbells and knocks at the door, and pretty much anything that resembles a knock or doorbell, but that's ok, we like to be alerted when there's a strange noise, so it doesn't bother us. He definitely would prevent someone from breaking in or trying to. Fostered by Phil and Tracy Kirby

CARTER & CASH Carter & Cash are both adopted! Their mother is a Beagle mix and father unknown. These puppies are absolutely adorable and are in foster homes being potty trained and socialized. They would make very good family pets as they have a great temperament. They have had their first set of shots and will be getting second soon. They will also be spayed and neutered in the near future. If you are looking for a wonderful companion, please check these puppies out. Photo by Renee Scott Photography

He will sit, fetch a ball and sometimes bring it back. Mathis is wonderful with children, plays well with other dogs and would be a great addition to any family! Fostered by Tricia Boyd

Jade ADOPTED
My name is Jade. My mom and I were found
crossing a busy intersection in December. The good Samaritan turned us
over to Guardian Angel Pet Rescue. Our owners could not be found, so the
Angels have been caring for us while a new family is found. My mom was
adopted right away, but I am still looking for my forever home. I am
very sweet and have a beautiful coat. My mom weighed about 33 lbs and
was a spaniel/bassett mix. I got my disposition from her. She was
a wonderful mother. I am up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed. I
would make a wonderful family companion.

CJ ADOPTED! Hello,
my name is C.J. I am approximately
3 years old. I weigh about 40 lbs,
am heartworm negative, up-to-date on shots, and spayed. I am great in the house.
I am housebroken. I am
sometime a little mischievous and will hide things around the house.
I am very affectionate and smart if I must say so myself.
I usually get along with most dogs, but I do play a little rough.
I think I might prefer to be the only dog, but another one that will let
me be boss would be okay. I will
chase your cats, so probably cat less home would be best. I love kids, but do become somewhat protective of my family.
So, a home where there are a lot of small children coming in and out
would not be best. I am looking
forward to finding my own place and my own people. Photo by Renee Scott Photography

Presley curl to my lip. And you should see me prance! I would make

have one quirk that my foster mom will discuss with you when you call.

LUKE ADOPTED!
My name is Luke. I am a
beautiful chocolate, brindle lab mix. My family moved away and left me
tied to the porch on New Year's Eve. I guess they just could not take me
with them. I was taken into the Guardian Angel Rescue and now I am in
boarding until a foster home can be found. I weigh about 70 lbs and I am
about a year old. I am heartworm negative, neutered and have had all my
vaccinations. I have a wonderful temperament and I am very playful.
I am strong, but not quite as hyper as a full-blooded lab. I would make
a wonderful companion.

BUDDY Adopted! Chihuahua/Rat Terrier Approximately 3yrs old, 10lbs, 8 inches at shoulder Buddy (Buddy for short) was found running the streets as a stray. He had a collar on, but no tags. He came to our house one morning after spending the night outside in the rain. After checking with the person who had found him, I took him in with my family of 4-legged babies. He is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met! He got along with all my other dogs very quickly. He was a little scared of them at first; he's the smallest one, the next smallest is 20 pounds. It didn't take him long to be playing right along with them, both inside and out. He loves to get up beside you on the couch and snuggle, sometimes with his best friend, Poppy; as you can see on the front page of our website (that's me they're snuggled up to). He is not a barker, he only barks when he hears something or is playing; sometimes when the other dogs start barking. According to the person who found him, he got along with her 4 year old. I haven't seen him around children or cats. He is an awesome dog and would be a great addition to a family.

NEIGHBOR Adopted!

aggressive to me. I am heartworm negative, up-to-date on shots, and
spayed.

Anakin Adopted! Anakin
is a 2 year old handsome black Chow/German Shepherd Dog mix, Anakin has a
sweet disposition and the aloof attitude of his Chow ancestry, which makes
him a confident dog that doesn’t need constant affection. The German
Shepherd in him shines when he goes for a fast-paced walk on leash with you.
His nose is glued to the ground and his curiosity is keen. Anakin came to
live at the Memphis/Shelby County Humane Society when he was three months
old. He is two years old now. He’s never been adopted. He has been the
perfect kennelmate to the various dogs that have shared his kennel the past
two years. But he’s not best for a home with cats. He
has no food aggression and takes treats gently, like a gentleman! Anakin
does respond to a clicker when training, but because of his 50 percent Chow
lineage, which makes him a bit of a
‘free thinker’, he will learn “tricks” at HIS pace, not
yours….but he CAN learn with lots of treats.
Remember, because this boy has only lived at the Humane Society, he has to learn
about living in a home. And because Anakin is Chow/German Shepherd mix, he will
respond to generous treats or rewards. He is not 100 percent housebroken, but
he’s a smart mixed breed, and he’ll learn fairly quickly, if crated, how to
master being housebroken.
Chow/German
Shepherd mixes, such as Anakin, are NOT recommended for homes with small
children, but should do fine with children ages 7 to 8 years and older who
know how to treat pets with respect.

JACK Adopted! Hi! My name is Jack. I'm a VERY sweet coon hound mix that was found wandering the streets. I am 77 lbs, neutered, and up to date on all my shots. I LOVE to play with other dogs, and I am a real love bug with people too! I'm quite the charmer and I like everyone I meet. Everyone says what a great guy I am. The lady that found me would love to keep me, but her dog doesn't like other dogs at all. I, on the other hand, get along great with everyone! Please give me a chance to show you what a great addition I can be to your family.

ROSIE Adopted!
Breed: mixed.. possible shiba Inu Approximate
age:1yr Height at shoulder:19" Weight:35#
Rosie is super friendly. She is kennel & housetrained. She is a very smart girl that would really benefit from the 1-1 attention a permanent home can give. She knows basic commands. She gets along with multiple dogs in 2 households. She loves all people large or small. Rosie has a foxy look and a plumed tail, you just have to meet her. She
is a cat chaser & would not do well in a home with cats. Photo by Renee Scott Photography

KOBI ADOPTED!
Hi, my name is Kobi. I am going on
three years old now. I was surrendered by my first family that got me as
a puppy because my mom was going to school, had a new baby and was living in
an apartment. It was just too much for her so she surrendered me to
Guardian Angel Pet Rescue. I did get adopted, but was returned again.
My foster mom does not understand as she says I am the best little girl.
I am housebroken and crate-trained. I really don't play much, but I get
along with all my foster siblings. I had a urinary infection when I came
back, but that has since cleared up. I do make this really weird noise
when I get stressed out. So, this time around I think an unstressfull
environment with a more settled family would be the best match for me. I
am heartworm negative, up-to-date on shots and spayed. Just waiting for
the Rights to come along!

Molly Hutchinson Adopted On October 13, Molly was struck by a hit and run driver. Molly had no collar and no chip, and no owner has been located. Molly was treated at a Memphis emergency vet center and stabilized over the weekend. She was transported the following Monday morning to another animal clinic where she remains. X-rays determined that there were no broken bones, but that Molly’s hip had popped out of its socket. Attempts to pop the hip back were made, but the hip will not stay and hip surgery is planned. Molly is taking medication for hookworms and anaplasmosis (a tick-related disease), is on Frontline Plus, and is heartworm negative and on heartworm medication. She will be vaccinated upon leaving for her adoptive home. Molly has already spent one week in the animal hospital and is walking well on three legs and getting much stronger. The vet states Molly is ready to leave. The hip surgery is planned for next week, after which time the vet states recuperation is very quick. Molly is a timid, sweet 3-4 year-old white lab mix. She has some faint light brown spots on her back. It appears her former home neglected her. She is about 65-70 pounds, and loves to be loved. When taken outside, she looks at things as if seeing them for the first time. She has now learned she CAN walk on three legs, and attempts to bound out of her crate at the vet hospital as soon as the door opens! Her ears stand up partly, and flop over at the top. She’s a real sweetie who would love a second chance at life. Being mostly lab, she so craves an opportunity to be a part of a family. She is eating well and loves Pupperoni. She’s been through so much but her spirit is still strong. Won’t you give her the care, love and attention she’s longed for all her life? Molly is ready to go home.
LUCKY ADOPED!
Lucky is an adorable 3 and a half month old Pit Bull puppy. He
was born under a house and was the only one of his siblings that we managed to
rescue. He is up-to-date on shots and will be altered soon. He has
a great temperament and is 98% housebroken. He is a very smart little
guy. We will require obedience classes for adopter of this sweetheart.

We are both very sweet and playful and are very anxious to find our forever homes. We were found in a box in Mississippi. The Guardian Angels took us in to make sure we find wonderful homes and are never abandoned again. We have had our first set of shots, rabies, and were altered this past weekend. approximately 25 lbs. She has been spayed and is up to date on her shots. To our

MISSY Adopted! My name is Missy and I am a three year old Chihuahua/terrier mix. I am heartworm negative, spayed, and up-to-date on vaccinations. I would probably be better in a home with an older couple, or a family with older children. A calm household would be better for me. I am okay with other dogs after a few days, but I don't play much. I am housebroken. |
