CHARLIE Adopted! Charlie is a wonderful cat. He is a domestic shorthair bicolor cat, weighs 9 lbs. and is 2-1/2 years old. Charlie and his brother Frankie were dropped off at the Olive Branch shelter when they were 6 weeks old. They came into our rescue in April 2004 as kittens. He is up to date on vaccines, is neutered and housetrained. Charlie is an absolute lover. When other cats are talking ugly he sits up out of the way watching. He gets along with all of the other cats and dogs and loves to be held and cuddled. He would love a home of his own. photo taken by Renee Scott Photography

LANDO (Declawed in Front) ADOPTED! This gorgeous adult male neutered cat was rescued from death row at the Memphis Animal Shelter on 12/18/04. He was quickly adopted to a nice couple whom he lived happily with as an inside only, single pet until 05/05/07 when his owners divorced and suddenly returned him to us when neither was willing to take him with them when they moved :( Lando is now approximately 4-5 yrs old. He is the most AWESOME cat. He is big, gentle & very lovable. He is very affectionate and whoever adopts him will be very lucky to have him. He is a little bit afraid of dogs & other cats but we think he would adjust to a calm, gentle friend. He loves to come and put his paws in your lap when you are sitting down right before he jumps up into it. He is most definitely a lap cat. Why his previous owner dumped him at a kill shelter & then adoptive parents were able to give him up is a mystery to us. He is as perfect as a cat can be. This guy has now been shuffled around from home to home and needs a family committed to caring for him for the rest of his life. Do not apply for this guy unless you are sure you can commit to him. He deserves it.

PONG Adopted! Hi, my name is Pong.
Everyone that sees my picture thinks I am small, but I weight about 35+
lbs. I have been waiting for my
forever home for almost a year now. My
sister Ping was adopted last winter and I miss her terribly.
My foster families have been great, but I am anxious to find someone I
can call my own family. I have a
couple of faults. I am very
affectionate and when I meet someone I try too hard to make them love me.
I have a lot of energy, but if you let me get it out of my system I am
happy to relax and sit at your feet. I
am housebroken and I get along with other dogs. I LOVE CHILDREN! It
is hard to contain myself sometime because I just want to kiss them all over.
I promise to work on that. I
am heartworm negative, up-to-date on shots, and spayed.
I do have to have a secure privacy fence and will need to be kept indoors
when my family is not home. I am
crate-trained so that shouldn’t be a huge issue.
Once I become secure in my new home, that will not be an issue anyway.

JACK DANIELS ADOPTED Jack Daniels is approximately 3 yrs old and stands 14 inches at the shoulder and weighs 40lbs. He may be a Beagle/Basset mix. A real couch potato, very loving, but unsure of himself with strangers takes a while to warm up, once you win his trust, you will be his world. Lives with a cat and has improved tremendously about stalking her, the cat still catches his attention, but a verbal correction takes care of it. Sometimes just walks up sniffs her and walks away. As to people you have to earn his trust; once you do, there is such love and devotion there for you, he will be your quiet little shadow. Jack was abandoned by his previous owners. They were evicted so they just left the house AND the dogs behind; a kind neighbor looked after them and called GAPR for help. Jack was the only one heartworm positive, now almost through his 2nd month of treatment, thanks to GAPR. So much he has gone through, and yet those hound dog eyes still look at me with love. He so deserves a forever home where he can again give all that devotion and love to his forever family. Jack is housebroken and crate trained. Fostered by: Patricia Keahey

Moon ADOPTED
Hello, my name is Moon. I am approximately a year old now and I
am a lab/shepherd mix female. I am the sister of Star. I am a very
sweet girl, but a little shyer than my sister. I get along well with
other dogs and I love to play. I am spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations,
and I am on heartworm preventative. We came into the rescue at about 6
weeks old and never found our forever home because people just overlook black
dogs. I am now being fostered in a home with my adopted sister Meg
Ellen. We are happy to be reunited as we started out in the same foster
home, but we are really ready for a home to call our own.

She gets along with other dogs and children and loves the outdoors. Meg Ellen has a lot of personality and would be a great addition to any family. She is crate trained and housebroken. KODA ADOPTED
Hello, my name is Koda. I am just as cute as can be with personality plus.
But don't let that fool you, I do have a mischievous side also. I get
along with other dogs. I do have a tendency to try to exhibit my
superiority over dogs smaller than me. But if you just let me know that is
not allowed, I get the picture. I am heartworm negative, up-to-date on
shots, and neutered. And best of all, per my foster mom, I am housebroken
and crate-trained. Although, I do prefer not to be put in the crate, I can
deal with it. I am about 12 lbs. I love to snuggle and love to be petted.
All in all, I would make a great companion for a couple of a family with
older children.

Bruiser and Dutch Both are Adopted These adorable Beagle puppies were rescued from Tipton Shelter. They are about 9 weeks old and have had their second set of shots. The two girls have been adopted, but there are still two boys. These guys would make wonderful companions for families with children. From: Maria Stephenson < maria@stephensonsplace.com> Date: Dec 11, 2007 10:19 AM Subject: Cody/ Bruiser Addressed to Tammy and the rest of the wonderful rescue team: Cody (Bruiser) is getting along famously with our two cats. Last night he played tag with our youngest cat for a long while. They chased each other across the floor from one end of the place to the other. The cat always cheated by jumping on the bed. But a little whining from Cody and the cat would jump back down. Then chase was on again. We are already taking him out once every few hours to do his business. We also take him out if after a planned business trip he was unable to comply and then we see him getting antsy minutes later. He has some chew bones now and loves gnawing on them. I made sure they were ones he could handle well. He was taken out twice over night for doing his thing and I think was only able to go once during those times. We of course have the accidents to clean. This is a part of the deal in helping him get trained. But he is adorable and we already love him very much. He slept off and on most of the evening in the bedroom with us. We haven't taken any pictures of him as of yet. But I am sure we will very soon, as Xmas is around the corner now and a reason to bring the camera out. I just wanted to let you know how very glad we are that you saved him from euthanization and Cody is with us now. We also hope that sometime in the future we can adopt again. We do so love animals. Sincerely, M Stephenson

CHRIS ANGEL ADOPTED! This is Chris Angel. He is about 3-4 months old. He was hit by a car and his owners surrendered him all in the same day. We rescued him and paid for a screw to be placed in his left leg. The problem was his other leg was damaged also and he walked like a kangaroo and had to be taken outside to even use the bathroom. Now is all healed (mostly) he is very loving and so soft. He cannot get enough attention. Loves all kids and toys are the best. He will go get a ball and play tug of war with you or other dogs. I am not sure what mix he is but he is starved for love and gets very happy when any attention is thrown his way. His whole back of his body shakes with his tale. He is looking for his forever home, now that he has made it through the difficulty parts of his life.

my name is Tyson I am a boxer mix who is looking for a family to call my own. I
am 17 inches tall and weigh about 30 lbs. I am a playful boy who loves other
dogs, but I know how to cuddle too. This is why I would be okay as an only dog
or with another friend. I am extremely friendly and when my foster family first
brought me home I did not have any accidents in the apartment. I would love to
have a house and a yard to run around in. I also love to chew on rawhide and
play with my toys. People say their favorite part about me is my floppy ears
(they are expressive). I am crate trained and house trained. I have not been
around any small kids or cats so I am not sure if I will get along with them

Molly and Delilah in the girly girl room Molly Adopted!
Guardian Angel,
I just wanted to update you on our new addition. After Maverick
died...I was not sure if I could ever go through that grief of losing
another dog. One day in October I was looking on the website and
saw a picture of a beautiful yellow lab. I sent a email to Debbie
from China and asked her about it. She gave me the name of the
family fostering Molly. I called Susan and we talked and she
agreed to hold Molly for me until I returned from overseas. She is
beautiful and I am so happy and proud to be her new Momma. She was
very skinny but is growing fast. I call her my little pony!!
She gets along so well with Delilah our other rescue lab. She is
the typical playful young lab that has to be watched! So
far she has ate the face off my wood bear and she redesigned of my
antique alligator purse. Chris our son had his stocking filled at
Christmas missing the eyes and nose off his 23 year old stocking (Molly
liked it too). I'm sending a $50.00 donation through paypal to
help cover the cost of rescueing another neglected dog. Thanks for
caring and giving of your time and money the way each and ever guardian
angel worker does. Without the caring souls of you volunteers
there would not be happy people like me!
Thanks,
Rhonda Roberts

BUSTER TYSON Adopted! Hi, I am about 4 months old. I am a male Boxer mix. I was abandoned when my owner moved away. Some Good Samaritans have been feeding me and making sure I was kept warm under the deck of the abandoned house. I get along great with other dogs. I am still a little scared and love to lay in laps. I don't like to go outside as I am afraid that someone will not come back for me. He is doing really well in the crate. I will probably grow to be a bigger dog because I do have big paws. MAGGIE solid black) MAX (black and brown) MAGGIE & MAX are ADOPTED!
My name is Maggie and my brother's name is Max. We were rescued by a
wonderful couple of women from Mississippi. We were born in Mississippi
and our mom let us run loose. The neighbor warned her that he would
shoot us if we came on his land again - and of course we did. We are
kids and we really didn't know any better. Anyway, the neighbor shot our
sibling and threw the body in the pond on his land. He and his friends
used the body for target practice during the Memorial weekend. Another
neighbor had to witness the horrible sight and was determined that she would
not let that happen to me and Max. She contacted Guardian Angel and
through the rescue grapevine, a foster home miraculously came available.
We are now working on our social skills. We had not much in the way of
human contact. I am coming around a little faster than Max - he is my
little shadow. We are 4 months old and we have had our vaccinations and
been de-wormed and are scheduled to be altered in the next week or so.
We have already had our heartworm preventative. Max and I will make
loving, devoted companions, but we will need a patient home. Hopefully,
Max will find a home first as I think he will be lost without me if I go
first.

WILLIE ADOPTED! Willie is the name. I am an adorable six year old Dachshund mix. I have recently been treated for heartworms, neutered and vaccinated. I am a major sweetheart. I NEVER barks. I give hugs and I love to sit in laps. I am crate-trained and I make good use of our doggie door. I do have one flaw, if you raise your voice to me it really scares me and I run away yelping. So, I will need some patience with that. I get along great with all dogs and cats and am wonderful with children. I will make a great family pet.

I am Mary and you know most everything about me from my sister Flo's bio.
I am not quite as outgoing as Flo, but I am still a very loving girl. I am

FLO ADOPTED!
My name is Flo. I am one three absolutely
adorable sisters that were rescued from being kept in a storage building with food
and a little water. The angel that rescued us was able to talk our
owners into surrendering us to the Guardian Angels Pet Rescue. We
have had a wonderful life at our foster parent's home, but we are ready for
our forever families. I weigh about 10 lbs. and have been spayed,
gotten all my vaccinations, and am on heartworm preventative. I am
crate-trained and doing very well on housebreaking. I am very outgoing
and loving. You just can't go wrong with me or my sisters.

DIANA Adopted!
And finally, I am Diana. I am the dark
colored of the three of us - and yes I have the bigger ears. Very
beautiful, aren't they. I probably weigh slightly more than Mary and Flo
- must be the ears. I am very sweet and loving. I get along well
with other dogs of all sizes. I also am crate-trained and probably
housebroken. At least I have not had any accidents in the new foster
home I have been visiting in. Of course, I do prefer for my person to go
out and stay with me.

These two adorable lab puppies were left behind in their home when their
owners moved away. Firefly is the larger of the two by one pound. Cricket
found her forever home yesterday. Firefly is now anxious to find
hers. Firefly is is very loving and playful. She is
great with other dogs and children. She loves chew toys and will
run get the ball, but has not learned to return it yet! She is
crate-trained and can sit when asked to at feeding time. She is
beautiful in color and I think a mix between a golden and a lab. I can
not express how cuddly soft she is and loves kisses! She would be great
for any family big or small and would be very loyal. She is 23 pounds
and loves to try to sit in your lap! Oh, and best of all she is almost

Kara
ADOPTED!Kara was on death row in Tipton County in December 2006
when she came to her Angels completely unsocialized, very scared and bone thin.
She would run away even if you looked at her! She’s up to date on vaccines, is
on heartworm preventative and is spayed. Kara has gained four pounds and has a
beautiful shiny coat. She is housetrained but not crate trained since there is
not one in her foster home. She is a gentle dog and has not destroyed anything.
She loves other dogs and cats. Kara has made positive steps since joining her
foster home. Although she is still fearful of being held, she loves to be in the
same room with people and is very curious about what you’re doing. Even as
frightened as she has been she does not snap. Kara is not a yappy little dog and
has very humorous ways. She acts as the activity director; every morning she
gets the toys out of the dogs’ toy basket to start their day of playing. She
often initiates wrestling matches with the two other big dogs. Kara will make a
terrific little dog for someone with the patience to earn her trust and the
attention she requires to be your best friend. Fostered by: Jackie and Don Photo by Renee Scott Photography

HARLEY ADOPTED! BREED: Black Lab AGE: 1-2 Yrs WEIGHT: 75 lbs Harley is a wonderful boy! He was rescued from the Greenbrier, TN shelter but shows no signs of why someone would possibly give up this wonderful boy! He’s smart, obedient, very good with kids and other dogs (have not seen him around cats) and has lots and lots of love and energy to give to the right family. He adapts very well to new situations and is very friendly to all who meet him. One experience with how he just falls over and shows you his belly when you pet him will make you fall in love with him! He loves to retrieve balls, play with squeaky toys, run, swim and have his belly scratched. Harley will make a great pet for any family. He’s up to date on all of his shots, has been neutered and has a clean bill of health. |
