BUDDY (former SYDNEY)
Buddy was adopted on his new dad's
birthday!

Simon
adopted!
Simon was rescued from Memphis Animal Shelter by one of the
angels.

Chester with his Mom
Chester was rescued from MAS.
~ Note from Chester's mom ~
I saw you guys had a tent at the Gimme Shelter I hope you guys were
successful. We had 5 dogs adopted from the Border Collie Rescue and we
completed the house visits this weekend and everything went great.
I wanted to send you this picture of "Chester". He was the yellow lab
that I adopted from you guys. He is doing great and as you can see is
spoiled rotten. We love him very much. He is a great companion.
Hope you had a good weekend.
Sincerely,
Tammy

ANDY
(ADOPTED!)
Andy was rescued from MAS two days AFTER his
euthanasia date. He was housed between two huge snarling pit
bulls, which is maybe why he got missed being taken away. He was
so frightened that he was curled up in a corner of his cage,
shaking. A little blond angel saw him and pulled him out, and he
joined the rest of the Beagle Brigade at his foster mom’s house!
Andy is a Beagle/Hound mix, and is small (about 20 pounds). He is
great with children, cats, and other dogs big and small. He is a
very laid back guy, and is a great house dog!

Buster
(ADOPTED!)
LOOK AT THIS BUNDLE OF ENERGY!
Buster is the littlest guy rescued by the good Samaritan hunter. He is
extremely affectionate, and is only 8 weeks old! It's amazing that he
survived in the woods at such a young age, even though he had Captain
and Hobie to help him out. His first night at his foster mom's house, he
ate so much his little belly looked like a balloon! He is learning to
potty outside, and is great with children and other dogs. Buster will be
a small dog when he is full grown, and is probably a terrier mix.

by Lee Ann Purvis
CAPTAIN
(ADOPTED!)
Captain
is one of the WAY coolest guys we have ever met! He looks just like Ed
from "The Lion King", and has a fabulous personality! Captain was
rescued by a good Samaritan turkey hunter who had seen him and two other
young dogs on an abandoned railroad track for nearly a month. They were
getting thinner and thinner, and he shared his own snacks with them
every time he saw them. Finally, after realizing these guys were
homeless, he called a Guardian Angel, who took them in. Sadly, when she
went to get them checked out, she found out that Captain was heartworm
positive. The wonderful vet has offered to treat him at a reduced rate
to help save his life! We only need $125 more (the foster mom and the
turkey hunter have already contributed to his care) to get Captain's
heart rid of those terrible worms. He between 18 months and two years
old, and is a Catahoula Leopard Dog/ Corgi mix. Captain is learning to
potty outside (we don't think he had ever been inside before now), and
is great with children and all other dogs, both large and small. He
weighs 20 pounds, and is about 12 inches high at the shoulder.

BARKLEY
(ADOPTED!)
(ALL OF THEM!)

BEFORE WINNIE
TODAY
ADOPTED!
Hi! My name is Winnie. I am
a sweet and happy female Chow Chow puppy. My "angel" rescued me
from a woman who was trying to sell me for $20.00 in the parking lot
of the Memphis shelter when I was only 4 weeks old.
I was covered in mange and real hungry. I've been treated for the
mange and my eyebrows have grown back. Don't I look stunning
now! Aren't I the cutest puppy ever? And I have the cutest solid
purple tongue to give lots of kisses with. I will be ready to move
into my forever home around the second week of March (when I'm about
10 weeks old). I can't wait!

YUKON
ADOPTED
Yukon is a 6 month old Staffordshire mix. He is a
baby! He loves attention, snuggling, and waking up his foster mom with
puppy kisses. He has slept in the bed with his foster parents since day
one. (He would like to be able to sleep with his new family too.
It makes him feel safe.) He is eager to please and is learning basic commands
like come and sit. He is almost 100% house trained. Rides well in the
car and is good with cats, kids, and other dogs.

Cooper
adopted!
Cooper is a beautiful 2 year old male brindle boxer
mix saved from a shelter that was closing it's doors forever and was about to
kill every dog inside. He is a well behaved and happy
boy! He gets along famously with other animals (but is a tiny bit rough
on cats. He's fine with them as long as he is being supervised.)
He walks great on a leash. He is a bit camera shy though!
NIKKI & OSCAR
Both adopted!!
Nikki
(F) & Oscar (M) brother & sister about 1 year old.
They were adopted from the animal shelter by a woman about 7 months ago.
She "saved" them and then threw them out in a small dog run
outside; that was never cleaned. She no longer wanted to care for them;
they were picked up by Bartlett Animal Control for running loose. Both
are very playful and very loving and get along well with other dogs
and are housetrained. Nikki will wrap her arms around you and put
her head on your shoulders for some attention. Oscar will lay his head
in your lap and take all the attention you will give him. Can you give
one or both of them a new home?

QUEEN SHEEBA
ADOPTED!!!
Sheeba is about 3 years old. She is a very sweet,
small dog. Her owners moved, and asked the neighbors to
look after her and her son, Spot, for a day or two until they
could come for her. That was 2 months ago. Luckily
she, and Spot, found there way under an angel's wing and now
have a second chance at life. Sheeba would prefer a
female owner. She does not like men.
TACO
adopted!
Taco is a 2 year old female Chihuahua mix rescued from the Memphis
shelter.
She is a sweet girl who loves to give and receive affection. She is an
alpha
dog, but does well with larger dogs and cats.
Belle
Adopted!
Belle is a 1 yr old female terrier mix rescued from the
Memphis shelter at
the same time as Taco (above). She is a fabulous small
dog. (approximately 15lbs) She is filled with
nothing but love and kindness. She loves to play and
sticks close by her foster mom's side. She enjoys giving
"puppy kisses" and gets along well with all
creatures big and small.
~Fostered by Carole Wickham
GRIZ

Griz is one of Lana's (below) 5-6 wk old
terrier/chow mix puppies. We have 8 of these puppies
patiently waiting for a new home. Ready March 10th!!

SWEET PEA
ADOPTED!!
We obtained Sweet Pea from the Olive Branch
Humane Society when overcrowding was forcing them to euthanize
her. She is a very sweet medium sized dog that gets along
great with smaller dogs.

Buck
Adopted!
We rescued this 7 month old terrier/pit? mix from an
abusive home. He is a very sweet boy who is hesitant of strangers but
warms up very nicely after a day or two.

AJA
Adopted!
9 week old male kitten (one Dusty's kittens)
who is curious and inquisitive.

MILO
Adopted!
Milo is 9 wk old male kitten we saved from
being surrendered to the Memphis Animal Shelter. He is very
sweet and lovable. Please contact us for more info
GATOR
Adopted!!!
Gator is a neutered male about
7 to 8 months old. He loves all kitties even his big foster brothers who
like to play too rough with him. He isn't even bothered by the dogs much,
except if they bark at him and then he just runs away. Gator has been a
wonderful baby for his foster family which they have had the pleasure of
fostering for several months now. Gator was sick when he was adopted from
the Memphis Animal Shelter back in September. He was continuously over
looked by everyone who came into the shelter until his foster parents
saw him and could see how desperate he was to be saved. He was so
thankful for their rescue that he never minded taking his medicine to get
well. Gator is completely healthy now, current on all shots and is ready
for his new forever home. He would love to be in a family that could give
him lots of attention. Gator got his name, because when he was
sitting in his foster moms lap and she stopped petting him, he would
nipple on her hand, as if to say "don't stop petting me!". Gator
is a small kitty and still a little skinny. He was in need of loving
attention when he was rescued and his foster parents would like to see him
adopted to a loving family who could spend lots of time with him, and give
him the love and attention this little guy deserves. Gator is very smart
and picks up on your emotions, he is very respective and will return
all the love you give him. Gator will stare at you with his big
green eyes and wait patiently for you to pick him up and love on him.
Wouldn't you love to give him a forever home?
CARL
Adopted!!
Carl is 8 months old, neutered and up to
date on shots. He is
your typical cat and really does his own thing most of the day. But, he
can surprise you with his funny antics! He
likes to hide in unusual places and jump out at you to surprise you. You
can almost hear him laughing as he walks away with satisfaction. He
likes to play and chase the other cats, bounding through the house
purring and meowing with enthusiasm and glee. He is a funny cat who when
you least expect it will make you laugh with his quirky personality.
He likes to great you in the
morning at his food bowl and purrs VERY loudly, excited about the
prospect of new fresh morning food and company. He likes to be petted
while he eats and as usual will make a game out of any attention he
gets. Carl is a great, fun
loving cat that is ok with dogs and children. If
you need a reminder to not take life so seriously, Carl can
definitely be your guide!
~fostered by Carole

PENNY & BUCK
Adopted together!
Penny is sweet as can be, she's a little shy
at first but once she warms up to you she'll follow
you around the house. Penny is 12 to 14 weeks old &
current on age appropriate shots. She isn't spayed yet but
will be soon. Buck is her brother and boy do they play
great together. She loves attention and don't try to eat
any ice cream around her she'll take it away. We could
have named her ice cream kitty.

DEVITO
ADOPTED!!
We rescued Devito from the Memphis Animal
Shelter. He is a well-mannered, medium-sized dog.
Please call for more info.

SYLVIA

Putter
adopted!!
Putter's owner was going to put
him to sleep because she didn't want him anymore. She kept telling
us how old he was. (8-9yrs is not that old!!!) Well, the day came
when she almost had him killed, so we rescued him and
kept him safe until we could get him into a Maltese rescue
that has promised to find a forever home for this charming
guy. Here is a note from his newest protector.

SIOBAHN
Siobahn is a young Chow Chow pup that was saved from MAS and
lovingly fostered in Memphis until a family was found and we were
able to bring her to her new home in Nashville (with the help of
an angel or three!)

LIBERTY
Liberty is a pug puppy that was being surrendered because her
daddy went off to protect our country in the war. We rescued
her and placed in a great forever home who named her in honor of
her former owner.

SAMSON
Samson was rescued by an angel who happened to be at the right
place at the right time. His owner called Memphis
Animal Shelter to surrender him when the kind and thoughtful
officer gave the phone to an angel because Samson needed special
attention. Thanks to the officer and his angel, he is now in
a forever home with a new family to love him.

He is a young Chow Chow. He is sweet, sweet, sweet.
MIKEY
~Transferred
to Basset Rescue
This 1-2 yr old housebroken Basset
Hound was found as a stray in Bartlett. We got him from animal
control on the day he was to be taken to the Memphis Kill Shelter.
He is a strong, rambunctious boy who is rough on cats. Last
August, he got adopted by what we thought was a good family.
Well, it turns out we were wrong. They moved out and left in the
back yard & luckily someone noticed before he starved to
death. He was still wearing his Guardian Angel I.D. tag, so
thankfully we got him back. He really needs his next family to be
forever. He has had a tough time finding his way
home.

met a stranger.
RESCUED FROM DEATH AT THE MEMPHIS SHELTER!

NEIMAM MARCUS
adopted!!
The owner of this 2 year old spaniel mix grew tired
of dog ownership one day and decided to have him destroyed. A neighbor who
became upset with this plan called us and brought Neiman to an adoption
day to look for a new family. What he found was a new foster mom who
thinks he is a really good, sweet dog who nearly lost his life just
because he wound up with a lousy owner.
~fostered by Donna Velez

LUCY
ADOPTED!!!
Lucy came to us as an owner surrender.
Apparently her mom & dad split up and neither wanted her

LATTE'
ADOPTED!!
Latte' is a 6-9 month old adorable terrier
mix that we rescued from death row at the Memphis Animal
Shelter.
Dear Guardian Angel Pet Rescue:
I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for bringing
Latte and my family together. We absolutely love her!
She has brought a lot of happiness to the house and to our
other dog Bandit. They love each other! It is
hilarious, you would think Bandit (14) was a puppy himself the
way he acts with Latte. She is very intelligent, gives
lots of kisses and hugs, and literally smiles when she is
happy, which happens a lot!!! :) :) Also,
not only was she housebroken, but she even knew a few tricks.
My son Logan who is 5 thinks this is the greatest, and must
ask her to sit and shake 100 x's a day. Thanks again for
the wonderful addition to our family!!
Lisa Randle for The Randle Family

Ethyl
New family
ADOPTED!!
Ethyl is a 10 month old female Chesapeake Bay

CANDY "ADOPTED" We
adopted Candy 2 yrs ago from the Memphis Animal Shelter. We
called her Foxy Roxy. She was adopted quickly and lived
happily with her new found family until recently when her
owner decided to adopt 2 Yorkie puppies and gave Candy the
boot because Candy was less than thrilled with this idea. She
is approximately 4-5 yrs old and is totally housetrained &
loves to be held. She gets along with dogs bigger than
her just fine, but would really prefer to be the only
"Princess in the Palace" if you know what we
mean.

DALLAS
We adopted Dallas from the Memphis Animal
Shelter and quickly found him a forever family that nursed him
through a broken hip & a horrible upper respiratory illness that
nearly killed him. He is really one of the lucky ones!!!

Pandora
Transferred to
Mewtopia, a no-kill cat rescue in Memphis
Rescued in the
Memphis Animal Shelter parking lot before she was
surrendered. Pandora is a
typical Siamese kitty and has the most breath-taking blue eyes.
She is very talkative and will let you know she is in the room.
She wants all your attention when she is awake, but don't bother
her when she is sleeping cause she'll let you know it's her nap
time.... She loves to curl up in the bed next to her foster mom,
but after she has settled in, don't move and wake her cause she
is cranky. She is the type kitty movies are made of, she will
let you know when she wants something. She is quite happy
being the only kitty, but will tolerate another cat maybe a
dog, if you don't mind listening to her fuss about
it. Pandora is 15 months old and ready to move in with
you as long as you promise to love her and let her sleep where
ever she wants.
Bamboo
Transferred to
Mewtopia, a no-kill cat rescue in Memphis
Bamboo,
he carries the luck of the bamboo with him. He and his sister
Pandora were being surrendered to the Memphis Animal Shelter
when their guardian angel stepped in. Bamboo is very
affectionate, it took a few days for him to warm up to his
foster parents, but now that he is comfortable he loves to climb
to the highest points in the house and look outside. He is so
lucky to have been rescued from the dreaded shelter that we
thought it fitting to name him Bamboo, not to mention he is a
Siamese mix. He would love to curl up in your lap and watch a
movie with you. Bamboo is 2 years old and ready for his forever
family, let his luck rub off on you. He doesn't mind dogs or
cats as long as they give him a little time to adjust to his new
home.

MS. PEEL
adopted!
Here is a note from Ms. Peel's new mom:
Dear Guardian Angels,
Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know how much I love my
cat
Gypsy (renamed Ms. Peel, Peel for short!) that I adopted in December
of
2002!
Ms. Peel gets along wonderfully with her adopted sister cat Ava!
I don't
think I could have found a more perfect match!
Thank you again!

Mackenzie(adopted)
& Yale(adopted)
rescued from the Memphis Animal
Shelter

A note from Yale's new family!!!
Carole-
Hello! I just wanted to thank you once again for my new
kitten, Yale. He
is adorable, and fearless. As soon as I got him home he ran
around the
house like he owned the place, and he also likes to climb and perch
on my
shoulder. My cat is taking a little time time to adjust to her
new little
brother, but last night she allowed Yale to lay on the bed with her,
so I
was happy. Despite her little growls he is insistent on
playing with her,
and I can tell she's already caving in. He's been eating well,
and is quite
a sport when it comes to the ear mite medicine! I just wanted
to let you
know that he is doing GREAT, and I couldn't be happier.
Thanks,
Erika Seedorf

Kennedy(adopted!)
Rescued from Memphis Animal Shelter
8 wks old, spayed female
Kennedy is a little princess
and does not like dogs and likes to be clean. She is a little
girl!!! Very dainty and lady like.

Cinnamon(adopted)
(formally
known as one of the "Spice Girls")
Cinnamon is 8 to 10 weeks
old. She is spayed and current on age related shots. Her
other two sisters have been adopted and so the trio is now
just one. Cinnamon is a "little spit-fire". She
runs all over the house and loves to play with her other
foster kitties. She loves everyone and will play until it's
nap time and then she will lay just where every there is a
spot for her, even though she would prefer your lap. She is
litter trained and loves all her toys and cat trees. Would
you like a little "Spice" in you life? If so
Cinnamon is for you.

SOPHIE(on right)
ADOPTED!
Sophie and her siblings were dumped in a ditch
when they were just tiny puppies. They were all safely rescued
and we quickly adopted them all into loving families. Here is a note
we received from Sophie's forever family who said the magic
words......they said we would never have to worry about Sophie
again. Now, that's all we ever ask for and this time....we got
it.

"Dixie"
(in
watercolor)
"Had
Dixie for over a year now and still love her to death!!! Had
a picture of her done in watercolor passed it on to Allison Williams her
foster mom!!!" 6/2004
Sam,
Suzanne & Ms Dixie
Hi! My name is Dixie. I
was nearly killed at the Memphis Animal Shelter. I am a very sweet girl
who loves to be loved on. The other dogs make fun of me for my ENORMOUS
ears, but my foster family says it gives me personality. I know how to
play fetch, sit and walk around on my back legs. Just give me a ball and
I'm happy. I'm also crate trained and housebroken. I'm a little scared at
first so don't sneak up behind me and I'll be ok. I have been known to try
and fight back if another dog provokes me, but I usually am the one to
roll over on my back and give up."
Just wanted to drop you a line
about Dixie. We got her from the
guardian angels about a month ago.
She just wonderful and full of life. It took us about a week to get use to
having her around. Now we would not know what to do if she not there to
greet us when we get home after work. She the perfect size and just
adorable. Again me and my wife want to thank the guardian angels for saving
her
and hope more people will open their hearts and get their own doggie pal.
Thanks Sam and Suzanne Siegel
P.S. Also thank Allison for fostering her!!

are a few pictures of Maggie and her little brother Hudson. I
adopted Maggie from Judy Grantham (hi Judy, sorry it's taken so
long) on March 3rd and she's been a real treat. I couldn't have
picked a better dog. I really appreciate all the work you do. I
highly recommend to anyone considering a pet to adopt. Best of luck
in your rescue efforts.

Kojack-before Dr.
Blackburn worked his magic
Kojack TODAY!!!
Transported to New Jersey to a
waiting family
Little Kojack was found in this horrible
condition by a good Samaritan who took the time to take the
poor pup to her vet. It was decided that the pup would be
euthanized because it had no place to go with this contagious
case of mange. Well, nobody felt good about this
decision but as a last resort, the vet called us and of course
we couldn't say no & Kojack's life was spared and he will
one day soon go to his forever home and forget about the weeks
he spent isolated from the world. He's finally ready to
go home!!!!

Pippin
We adopted this lucky Boston Terrier mix from
the Memphis Animal Shelter and he was quickly adopted by his
new forever mom!!

Ditch Dog
"Adopted"
Ditch Dog was named
...well......because.....she was found in a ditch of course by a
good Samaritan who took her in until a forever home could be
found.
Dana,
Yes, everything has worked out wonderful. Lee brought her to
me last Wednesday. I have renamed her Cheyenne and call her
Chy sometimes b/c she is so shy. She has been a real blessing
to me. She is everything I have wanted in a dog. She
loves me unconditionally and loves to give affection and also
receive. She is housetrained and kennel trained. I couldn't
have asked for a better dog. She wins everyone over when they
come to see her...she is a doll. She loves her treats, toys
and loves to sleep on my bed. I am so glad I was there on
Saturday to meet her. Thank you for helping me get paired up
w/ such a great dog. Your organization is great. Thanks
again.
BRIGIT (Shelter Photo)
ADOPTED!!
We rescued Brigit from the Memphis Animal Shelter about 5
months ago. She was vetted, groomed and sent on her way to
what we thought was a forever home. Well, it seems that
shortly after arriving Brigit had an accident on the rug and
got into the garbage at her new home and was banished to
the BACKYARD!!! She finally escaped and was picked
up by animal control who nearly took her back to the Memphis
Animal Shelter we had previously bailed her out from. But
luckily she was wearing her rabies tag (still with our info)
and we were contacted and Millington Animal Control dropped
her off at our vet's office instead. Whew! The poor dog had
not been groomed since we had her. We are going to be darn
picky before we let her go again.
JOSIE
ADOPTED!
We rescued Josie when she was
just 1 pup in a box of puppies left on the doorstep of one of
our angels as her family (in a moving truck) drove down the
street yelling " I know you will take good care of
them!!" (True Story)
Anyway, she found a family
right away when she was a cute, little, adorable puppy. Then,
she grew up into a big girl and her family gave her back to us
after nearly a year stating she is too big and we do not have
time for a dog. Sadly, she has done nothing wrong. She
is a great dog who is just down on her luck finding a forever
family.
ADOPTED!!
This 14 month old Shep. mix was found tied to
a mobile home when she was 3 months old. She gets along great with other
dogs and with cats too! She is loving and sensitive and likes to
"shake."

HANK
ADOPTED!!
We adopted Hank from the Memphis Animal Shelter on
his very last day. He is a smart, playful dog, that likes people
and other dogs. He needs a 6 ft wooden fence to keep him in.

MERCURY
ADOPTED!
We adopted this female Boxer mix from
the Memphis Animal Shelter. Besides being nearly starved to death,
she is heartworm positive.
Fostered by Sonia Forgacz

Lady
ADOPTED!
Lady was rescued with Bugs (her sister
who is still waiting for a home)
from the Memphis Animal Shelter. She weighs approx. 20 lbs and is 1 yr
old.
Fostered by Angela & Sammy Klein
Here's a note from her new family
We just wanted to share a photo of Lady and
her new sister Haylee. They get along well and Haylee has
adjusted nicely to having another dog around. Lady has
really come out of her shell since she came to live with us!!
She is no longer shy and she has already learned to
"sit". She follows Haylee everywhere and loves to
be a couch potato. She loves chew bones and lounging on the
bed, too. She is a wonderful dog, and we all feel very
lucky to have found her!
Sincerely,
Shannon and Jenny Holbrook

Chocolate
ADOPTED!
Chocolate
was found running stray by one of our adoptive families. She is
finally home!

Precious
& her very own kid!! ADOPTED!! We
rescued this 6 yr old female dachshund from the Memphis Animal Shelter on
1/17/03. She is heartworm
positive and will begin treatment soon! So far, she has
been good with kids and cats and is housetrained. She loves to
cuddle and watch TV.

REESE
Dana,
Several months ago we adopted Reese from Guardian Angel and she is now part of the family. I do not know how we made it without her. She is my son's best friend. We have taken her with us to
Lousville, KY and Waynsville, Mo. She is even great to travel with. Thanks for all you do and
rescuing her for us! We all just love Reese.
Mary
BEAUTY
ADOPTED!!
Beauty is approximately
12 weeks old. She was rescued by her "angel" just before being
left at the Memphis Animal Shelter. She was found along with her siblings
in a field in Mississippi and was going to be surrendered to the shelter
in hopes they might get adopted. The nice lady who found them didn't know
that many babies never make it out of the shelter. They are
euthanized for no reason and often get sick and looking out from
behind bars is their last memory. Beauty is a beautiful black kitten,
a purrfect little girl. Beauty and her brother Shorty
have watched all their other siblings go to new "forever
homes" and wonder if maybe you are the one to
love them forever.
Shorty
ADOPTED!
Shorty is approximately 12 weeks old and
was rescued by his foster mother along with his brother and sisters one
day at the Memphis Animal Shelter. A nice lady found Shorty and his
siblings in a field at the young age of 7 weeks. She was taking them to
the shelter in hopes they would get adopted. When this lady walked in
Shorty's "angel" was there rescuing several other babies
and heard that he was going to left at the shelter. After explaining what
could happen to him and his siblings the nice lady gave all the kittens to
our "angel" instead of taking her chances with the shelter.
Shorty has watched his brothers and sisters get adopted to loving families
and still waits for his forever family. Shorty and Beauty are the only
ones left from the litter that haven't been adopted. Can you help them
find their way home?
LIBERTY
Adopted!!
Liberty (Libby for short) is approximately 6
months old. She is a brown, gold, and black tabby with
medium length fur. Her dark stripes run down the length of her body
from her head to her tail. She and her sister were found in a wooded
area by a Lincoln (a former G.A.P.R pet) in the beginning of July, when
they were just a few weeks old. Her sister found a home but Libby is
still with us. She is a quiet kitten. She does not like a lot
of commotion or rowdy behavior. She prefers a tranquil, peaceful
environment, which in a home with 4 other cats and 2 dogs and 2 puppies, is
hard to achieve. She spends most of her time lounging in the sun on
the window ledge or under the bed. She does fine with
the other animals one-on-one but gets scared when everyone is awake and
playing. She would do well alone or with one other animal..
She would really benefit from a less active home.

THE SPICE GIRLS
All adopted!!
Nutmeg & Cinnamon are ready to go home with
you! These two babies, known as 2 of "The Spice Girls"
(Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Ginger) are now 7 to 8 weeks old. Their sister
Ginger has been adopted and now there's only two left. Both have been
spayed and have had their first kitten shots. They are so playful and
loving. They don't know what to think about dogs, but sure do love other
kitties. They would love to warm your heart this Valentine's day.

Dutchess
ADOPTED!
Dutchess is also one of the 5 cats
that was nearly PTS by the owner. More info on her will be coming
soon!

Charcoal
Charcoal was once the beloved pet of a homeless
man. There came a day when the homeless man's health was declining
and Charcoal needed some medical attention herself including hernia
repair and itchy skin and he decided he couldn't care for her
any longer and asked us to find her a better home. Well, it
didn't take long to find her a new mom who cherishes her and is able
to give her everything she needs to keep her happy and healthy!
Charcoal will never be homeless again! Here' a note from her new
mom!
Dear Dana and the
Guardian Angel Pet Rescuers,
I
am writing to tell you how wonderful charcoal (formally called girl)
is. She is sooooo beautiful. You would not recognize
her, now. She has grown, adapted to me and her new home well.
She is very healthy and smart. I have tons of pictures
of her. She is so attached to me and I am to her also. Her
coat is so full, soft, healthy, and fluffy. She loves her new
home and family. You should see her in Petco shopping (smile).
I can't believe that she even loves going to her vet to be
groomed every two weeks.
Most
of all, I am thankful that she is very healthy, now.
Dana, Did you get the pictures that I sent to you?
Macie

RIO
ADOPTED!!
Rio is 8 to 10 weeks old and is
very laid back but loves playing with her twin sister Brazil. Rio
was rescued from the Memphis Animal Shelter along with her sisters
and brothers. She loves attention and will curl up in your lap until one
of her unsuspecting siblings walk by and then she can't pass up the
opportunity to "pounce" on them. Rio would love to be
adopted along with her sister as they both have watched their
brothers be adopted by loving families and are the only two left from
their litter. I think they would understand if they had to be separated,
but only if you promise to love them twice as much.
Savannah
Adopted!
This 8-10 wk old kitten was left to care
for her brother Hershey (who has been adopted) after their mother was
euthanized at the Memphis Animal Shelter. Just like little Savannah, we
don't understand why she and her brother were left to grow up alone at the
young age of only 6 weeks. Their paperwork at the shelter said they were older, but
anyone could tell these two were just babies. Savannah took on the mother
role even at 6 weeks and started bathing her brother Hershey and making
sure he stayed out of trouble. Savannah has only grown a small bit and we
think she will be tiny just like her baby brother. She would
love to be babied by you and not have to grow up so fast.

Buster
ADOPTED!
Buster, the little guy on his new mom's right
knee has made his way right into the hearts of his new family. We
received Buster after he was treated at the emergency clinic for a
broken hip. He was adopted by his G.A.P.R foster family. Here
he is with everyone but Dad (who took the photo) and the cat!

P.J.
ADOPTED!!!
P.J. was adopted from the Memphis
Animal Shelter this past June when he was only 3 months old. His new
family decided to move to Branson without him and turned him over to us.
So now he is missing his family and patiently waiting for a new one.

ADOPTED BY HER FOSTER MOM!
This small female German
Shepherd was rescued from the Memphis Animal Shelter just before her
time ran out. She is heartworm + and will start treatment
soon! She is missing half her tail for some reason. She gets
along with other animals and is an absolute doll. She has
been boarded for a month now and really needs a home. Permanent
or temporary.

RALPH
ADOPTED!!!
We rescued this 1 yr old lab mix from the Memphis
Animal Shelter. He has been with us the longest of all the rescues. Its
strange, because he is a super dog without any problems. He is great
with kids, dogs, & cats. He is calm, well mannered and and just
basically an overall super dog.

BOSCO
ADOPTED!!!
Bosco is one of our newest shelter rescues. He is a 1
yr old Lab/daschund mix.
Solara(adopted) & Sienna(adopted)

big-hearted volunteers!!
Fostered by Sonia Forgacz
Update-Sadly, Sienna contracted distemper during her stay at the
Memphis shelter and was humanely euthanized.
Murphy
ADOPTED! This
1-2 year old Schnauzer wandered up to one of our Angels homes and wanted
in from the cold. By the looks of him we never suspected there was a
schnauzer under all that matted fur. Well, presto, chango, Petstyles in
Bartlett transformed this stinky, walking hairball into the most handsome
pooch in town!! He is a fantastic dog, healthy and ready for a
loving forever family who promises to properly care for him so he never
ends up begging on the streets again. Grooming
compliments of PetStyles in Bartlett fostered
by the Grantham family
HOLLY
ADOPTED! We
rescued this 4 month old spaniel mix from the Memphis Animal

someone who completely neglected her then returned her. She is still

MYRA
IN KILL SHELTER
ADOPTED BY HER FOSTER
MOM!!
Myra is a sweet, sweet girl who is looking for a forever home. She
is a dachshund/something mix and is brown with black highlights. She
has beautiful light brown eyes! She is a little bit larger than a
standard mini dachshund, and weights about 20 lbs. She is almost
fully potty trained, but needs some coaxing to go out. She won't tell you
yet when she needs to go. She may have an accident once in a while, but
not usually if let outside to potty on a regular basis. Typical to the
dachshund breed, she will pick one person in the family and stick to them
like glue. Myra has "adopted" her foster Mom, and is never too
far from where she is in the house. She absolutely loves to snuggle
and would love to cuddle up next to you on the sofa to watch TV. She
is a bit overweight and will eat almost anything put in front of her. She
has a little bit of anxiety left over from her "pre-guardian
angel" days and will blink her eyes or run if you move too quickly
around her until she gets use to you. She listens very well with a simple
"No" command. She does
well with other dogs and cats. She is a great guard dog in that she will bark if
someone comes into the house. She may chew something left on the floor,
but does not destroy shoes or furniture. She would do best in a home
where she is the only pet so that she can get all of the attention, but
will accept a brother or sister dog or cat. Myra can also be yard trained.
Since she is never too far from her Mom or dad, she doesn't run off when
let outside and stays right at your heels. Myra has had heartworms, and
has completed one treatment. She goes for her final treatment in mid
January. She will need to be kept calm after this treatment, but since she
is more of a sedentary animal, this is no problem. Myra has lots of love
to give, and is ready for someone to love!
No small kids please!

IZZY
ADOPTED!!!

stray. Someone had placed a rubber band around her waist and it had
started to cut into her.

MAGLORIE
Maglorie, formerly known as Daisy (one of
Summer's pup') is now living the good life with her new
mom! We rescued her, her mother "Summer" and her 8
siblings from euthanasia at the Memphis Animal Shelter when they
were just 1 day old!!
Hello! As
Maglorie's 1st birthday approaches I thought it would be
appropriate to write you all and thank you once again for this
awesome blessing in my life which you all made possible.
Maglorie is by far the best dog one could possible imagine.
She is sweet natured, well behaved, and full of energy! She
gets up and runs with me at 5:30 most mornings! She loves
living downtown on the river. She has many friends and she
loves going to daycare three days a week! I realized the
other day that almost all of my friends in Memphis I know through
my dog! Most of my friends would say the same! We are
moving at the end of the summer to El Paso, Texas but we will keep
in touch and let you know how your little one is doing! I
hope and pray that all of her brothers and sisters and her mom are
doing as well as she is. Thank you very much for your help!
I promise to keep in touch! God bless!

SUGAR HELSON
ADOPTED!
We rescued this adorable poodle from certain
death at the Memphis Animal Shelter. She was matted and dirty and it
was very obvious that nobody had ever loved her before. Well all
that has sure changed!!! Sugar is now living large in Las
Vegas. She has a big back yard, 3 doggie beds to choose from, her
own room and a daily nap with her new mom & dad! She has
really hit the Jackpot!

COLBY
ADOPTED!
We rescued this adorable Pomeranian/Poodle
mix from the Memphis Animal Shelter along with his sister Laci. They
have both found fabulous homes!!
FAT
LOUIE
ADOPTED!
Please let me introduce
myself. My name is now "FAT
LOUIE" I was briefly called Tiger. I’m just a big kitty. They
asked me to tell you a little about myself so let me begin with why I’m
looking for a home. I became ill
with a kidney infection and my previous owner decided that instead of treating
me they would put me to sleep. Fortunately,
the vet saw my potential and asked my owner if I could be placed in a new
home. I’m so glad to have a second chance at life.
I’m following my doctor’s orders and expect to be a new cat in no
time at all. I’ve always been an indoor kitty.
As you can tell from my picture I’m a big guy and pretty handsome if
I do say so myself. I’d love to
start my new life with your loving family.

Tuffy
Adopted
We rescued Tuffy from the Memphis Animal
Shelter and placed him in a forever home!
  ANDREW
At Memphis Shelter & Andrew's 1st adoption day!!
ADOPTED!
We adopted this gorgeous
cat
from the Memphis Animal Shelter. He is 1 yr. old, neutered and litter
trained. He gets along well with other cats and small and large dogs. He
has absolutely no fear. He likes to play a little rough with the other
cats but never uses his claws and is most fond of running around the house
at top speed sounding like horse galloping through the house and meowing.
He is VERY talkative. Andrew has a quiet personality and feels very
confident and comfortable in his foster home already. He loves to sit on
your lap and be pet but he is very spry and gallops around the house with
enthusiasm for what he thinks is always FOOD. If he hears a clank in the
kitchen or a bag open he is right at your side telling you he thanks you
for getting him some more food. It is amazing what lengths he will go to.
He was trying to pry open the refrigerator door and has been caught in the
trash can. He is very healthy and has a full food bowl at all times but I
guess nothing beats human food. He is fairly small and light weight. He
has a wonderful personality and strangely enough won't answer to anything
but Andrew, so that is what we call him. Andrew would be wonderful with
other pets and children. He has wonderfully soft long fur and legs and is
light on his feet and ready to live life to the fullest.
WYATT
ADOPTED!
This male Maine Coon Cat was nearly
euthanized at the Memphis Animal Shelter 1 day after Christmas due to lack
of space. (Nice gift to get for Christmas Huh?) But it was his lucky day
because one of our "Angels" was there and took him home. He is
neutered and declawed and Oh yeah, not too fond of dogs.
Spirit
ADOPTED!
We adopted this 1 yr old male cat from
the Memphis Animal shelter. No dogs or small children please.
ODETTE
ADOPTED!!!
Odette is 4 months old and already
spayed. She is such a little princess and gets along with other cats and
dogs. She is very passive and gentle. She is a very calm and quiet cat and
would do well with school age children and dogs.

This story was a simple case of pet matchmaking. We knew of an
adorable pup in need of a home and matched her with a family looking
for a special puppy exactly like her!!
Hi
guys:
Just
wanted to tell both of you how crazy we are about the puppy!
She is wonderful and has quickly become a featured member of our
family. My other, older dog Tucker has taken to her like a
mother and HE definitely is not one. He now has taken over
taking her outside for the business end of things and watches over
her so sweetly. She in turn gives him a run for his money.
He can't sit down when she is in the mood to play. They are
sooooo much fun to watch. I would like to tell each of you again,
Thank you! You have truly helped to execute a blessing!

DAE
ADOPTED!!
We adopted 3 yr old Dae from the
Memphis Animal Shelter to save his life. He was lucky enough
to have been adopted by the same family that adopted Magic &
Duckett from us a few months ago. How perfect too!! They are
both firefighters!! Keep watching for a new photo of Dae
riding high on a fire truck. He is one lucky, lucky
Dalmatian!!

Duckett
& Magic
The owner of these two adorable
elderly poodles decided to move and put all four of her Poodles to
sleep. We got these two. They were pretty healthy but needed some
dental work. They found a forever home together & with Dae!!!
Did you notice them in the photo
with Dae??
These poodles were
groomed compliments of PetStyles in Bartlett

SABRINA
&
CHARLOTTE (her mom)
We got Sabrina when she was just a kitten from
Bartlett Animal Control which saved her from making the awful trip
to the Memphis Kill Shelter. She was adopted by a local
professional pet sitters( ANIMAL HOUSE PET SITTING) who then
became Guardian Angel Pet Rescue members. They then
volunteered to foster Sabrina's mother who was also in danger of
being taken to the Kill Shelter. To make a long story short,
Mom and daughter will be together forever now since they adopted
Charlotte too! YEAH!!!
Here's what their new forever mom had to say
about the pair!
I told miss Princess
Sabrina she was going to be a star on the website. She is such a
"fancy" cat and she knows it, that's what's so funny. She
runs through the house making bird noises and then she stops and
perches herself on her cat tree. Her mom Charlotte is just the
opposite, she just lays around and watches her daughter act silly.

BIG BEN is finally home & lookin good we
might add!!

(shelter photo)
ADOPTED!!
We rescued Big Ben from the Memphis Animal
Shelter. He snuggled right into his foster mom's heart never
to leave. Atta boy Big Ben!!!

HUDSON
ADOPTED!!
We adopted Hudson from the Memphis
Animal Shelter. He is a young Great Pyrenees/Collie mix (we
think). He is a sweet gentle giant

Joey
ADOPTED!!
1 yr old male Spaniel mix.
Kennel trained, housebroken, sweet!
JULIE
ADOPTED!
Julie came to us at the Marquette Park adoption day
last month. She was brought there by the Marion kill shelter who set
their tent up next to ours. To make a long story short, she didn't get
adopted so she was headed back to the kill shelter to be killed.
We ended up with her and 3 others that were being returned to die.

DAKOTA
ADOPTED!!!!!
We rescued this beautiful black
lab mix when he was only 2 wks old. He was being sold by a bunch of kids
who had him and his 5 littermates in a flowerpot and were going door to
door on a cold January day selling puppies for $2.00 each. A concerned
person ended buying all the puppies and trying to find the owner. When
the owner couldn't be found, they called us. We bottle fed all the
puppies and found them what we hoped would be their "forever
home". In Dakota's case, we failed. His new family returned
him to us after a year and a half. It seems they decided they no longer
wanted an inside pet and put him in the back yard where he promptly
proceeded to chew up a door and an air conditioner. (not an uncommon
thing for a young lab we might add) After that, they deemed him
"too crazy" to love. They failed to protect him from
heartworms even after promising us they would. He has finished treatment
and is now heartworm NEGATIVE.
He has just been placed in a wonderful
foster family who has created a website all about Dakota and the
training he is receiving in his new foster home.
Please click on the following link for more info on Dakota

Here's a note from his new family!!!

VIVIAN
(In Shelter) & with her new very own "kid"
ADOPTED!!
Hi my name is now Heidi, I was saved from
the Memphis Animal Shelter and was briefly called Vivian. But, I finally
got sprung from the boarding facility by my new foster Mom and Dad who
decided I looked more like a Heidi. I am about 5 years old and in
pretty great shape for my age if I do say so myself. I am staying with 2
other dogs and 3 cats at my foster home and
I am really enjoying myself. I am not much of a romper or wrestler
so the other dogs really don’t pay
much attention to me but I have gotten to really like the cats. My foster
mom thought about naming me happy because that is what I am all the time!
I love to cuddle and go for rides. I really enjoy being around people and
am most happy just hanging around at home! I am still pretty scared of
quick movements and loud noises but I am adjusting and I give you my word
that if you let me into your family and heart I will be the best dog you
could ever ask for!
Chester
ADOPTED!
Chester was rescued from the Memphis Animal Shelter.
TEKA
ADOPTED!
We rescued Teka from the Memphis kill shelter.
Her owners turned her in stating they were just to busy for a dog. She is
approx. 4 yrs old and absolutely a doll. She is soooo soft and just loves
to be cuddled. She gets along with kids and other dogs. She dances around
on her hind legs and will jump up into your arms when she wants to be
held.

John Coffey

He found an awesome family
to love and protect him. His new canine companion is just
icing on the cake for this fella.

Nannook & Cheyenne
These pups were born to Mia after we adopted
her from the Memphis Animal Shelter. They were lucky enough to find
a family with room in their hearts for 2. Now the littermates
will be together forever.
The

pups adopted this past summer from death row at the Memphis Animal
Shelter. |
