It has been almost 2 months. I adopted phoenix... now Eli. We have had so much fun and joy from him. He is absolutely spoiled rotten. he has a brother Peyton and a sister feline Munchkin and plays with them both. He is just like a kid.... at night he is privileged enough to sleep in the bed.... where else.... and in the mornings you pull him out and goes right back in. He likes to sleep in. I had been looking for awhile and he just brings so much happiness!!! the little daschund is his brother Peyton!

Debbie,

Day 3 with Bell......we have renamed her as Miska. I don't think we could have found a better match for us.....except Blue....lol. She really is a great puppy. So far she has had no accidents in the house. I think it is going to be really easy to house train her.  She has already learned how to sit and we are working on stay and walking off lead. I have never had a dog so willing to train. She has found her new sleeping quarters witch is our bed. My boys love her and our other 2 weenie dogs are ok with her. I have attached some pics of her in her new home.

THANKS for the new addition to our family!

Will see you in a week or so for her shots and keep me posted about having her fixed.

Let us know if Blue's new home does not work out. I am sure we can make some room for him also.

Have a great day.

Date:    Friday, February 15, 2008 9:54:59 PM

Hello,

Can you believe it has been 18 months since we adopted Maci?  She has been a dream come true.  We had been looking for a companion for Lacey May for several years and looked at many hopefuls.  That is when we found Maci's picture on your web page.

I was not sure that it would work at first.  She had a similar name and she was a lot bigger than Lacey, but she fit our family like a missing puzzle piece.  She is loving and the perfect big sister to Lacey.  She is everything we had hoped for and more.  We did change her name.  We named her after our mothers.  Rebecca Lee, we call her Becca.

She did need some extra TLC for the first few months we had her.  She needed several lumps removed that all turned out to be benign, thank goodness.  Plus it turns out that she has several allergies.  She has food allergies and grass allergies.  Both are manageable and she is doing great.

We will be leaving the Memphis area this May for Maine.  Our new forever home.  Last summer we drove to Maine with both dogs and they traveled wonderfully.  Becca loved the large fenced in back yard of my parents home.  She fell in love with my mother and enjoyed hanging out in her hair salon visiting with the customers.

Thank you for all you do for the animals of the Memphis area.  We are so blessed to have Rebecca.  Lacey is very happy to have a companion and big sister.  Keep up the great work.

The Wood family

Barbara, Just wanted to send a photo of our Samson. He will have been with us a year in February. It's hard to believe that a whole year has passed, and that our teeny-tiny puppy is now a 55 pound dog. Also, in this brief amount of time he has become a playmate for my boys, a running partner for my husband, and my constant companion. He is truly a treasured member of our family. Thanks for everything you and Guardian Angel Pet Rescue do.     Sincerely, Emily Clark

Hello,

I adopted Joey formerly known as Timmy on New Year's Eve, 2006.

We were at the Wet-Nose 5k and were in the picture on the mound of all the pets and owners.

I saw some of the pictures in the slide show memorial for Deborah.  Are the pictures posted anywhere else on the site?

Debbie,

Just wanted to send you a Christmas picture of Ariel
(which we call Cayce).  If you don't mind, I do not
have Sherrie's email so I hope you could forward it to
her so that she can see how spoiled she is. She is now
30 pounds and the whole family loves her. She even
goes with my boys to my parents everyday after school
to get her afternoon grandparent spoiling.  She has
fit in so well and even our cats are getting used to
her.

Thanks for all you do, I recommend you guys to everyone
I know.

Hello Guardian Angels,

I am had a wonderful first year in my new home.  I sent you my picture lying in my favorite place.  My name was Flo but my Mom changed it to Grayce.  I graduated from beginners obedience class at Dogwoods on December 18th.  My mom was very proud.  Thanks Guardian Angel and foster Mom Dana for taking care of me until I found my forever home.  I have been so good my Mom says I might get to get a brother or sister soon.

Merry Christmas!

Love,

Grayce

Meg Ellen is fitting in wonderfully. She is really smart and when she does anything I don't want her to it only takes her a short time for her to learn to do it properly (like digging or chewing on the wrong thing). She is still very much a puppy as is Grover. They are just a month apart in age. I have my favorite with her sitting in the LR with her front legs crossed looking up at me with her ears up and she looks SO BEAUTIFUL. I am just in love with her. I feel so good to have her and want to thank Guardian Angels for taking such good care of all the dogs and working so hard so that they and those of us who need them can have a happy home together. Happy Holidays and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sent: Tue, 13 Nov 2007 3:58 pm Subject: Katie, and Lacie

Here is another update on Katie (right) and Laci (left). They are 14 weeks old now. Last week Katie weighed 4 lb. 1 oz. Laci was 3 lb. 9 oz. Katie is a little bit timid sometimes. She observes everything that goes on. Laci is not afraid of anything, she doesn't hesitate to jump on Katie, P-Nut or Jenny. We describe it as being spicy. The vet thought she had a heart murmur at first but it was very faint at the 2nd visit. By the 3rd visit it was gone, so he thinks that it probably wasn't a true murmur. Even if it was he said puppy murmurs usually go away without treatment. They are just as healthy as can be. Our vet just loves them, he kept picking Katie up looking at her legs & couldn't believe how much she in 3 weeks. He thinks they are as cute as they can be. They love each other so much, always sleeping side by side. Miss Katie long legs, we measured her legs which are 8 inches long. Laci's are only 5 inches long. They are such happy girls, even Katie is slowly getting a little spicy. The look on Laci's face while playing with P-Nut is her spicy look. They took to Mom, Dad & the 2 legged kids instantly. Within two days all four of the girls were playing together and haven't stopped. We love watching them play in the backyard, they all four chase each other. All you see are little dogs zipping in every direction they are so fast. They have so much energy and are so much fun. We are so happy with them and glad we got them both. We are working on potty training but they are so busy playing, it's like they're saying we don't have time for that it's all about having fun. But that's ok, Jenny & P-Nut still aren't completely potty trained. We just clean up after them all when they have accidents. We figure they will catch on when they are ready. All the puppy love makes it all worth it. _____

I held off answering your email hoping that I could bring Lizzie. My wife and I will not be able to attend. I have attached two pictures of Lizzie. She is doing great and we love her very much. She is a hit with our grandkids. They love her.

This is Annie who was formerly Neely in the rescue. Hi Barbara, Here are a couple of pictures of Annie. She is doing so great. She has a basket full of toys and has taught herself to fetch! She is so smart and picks up on stuff very quickly. Hope you like the pictures,

Hi guys!  This is Katri.  I was in a few weeks ago at adoption day at petco.  I had found kittens and their dead mother behind Supercuts.  While speaking with y'all, I happened across two puppies who were the most adorable little munchkins I've ever seen.  I fell in love with buddy right away and adopted him.  His Daddy was not happy when I called and told him that we had a new addition.  However, once I got home, buddy ran straight to him and Josh fell in love too!  We have renamed him Miles Davis Howell.  He Loves to play with his brother Henry James and is completely fearless.  Also, as some of you have had the pleasure of finding out first hand (barbara!), he is extremely pampered.  He doesn't love baths.  He stands very still and pouts the whole time he's getting a bath.  He's soooo cute when he's wet.  After bath time he wears his ducky robe around the house to help him keep warm.  Thank you to all the angels for helping us find our baby.  He is the most perfect little blessing we could have possibly found and we love him so much!  Thanks again!

Hi!

I adopted Flo whom I have named Gracie.  She has been a joy since the day she came to live with me.  She is a sweet dog who loves to play outside and chase squirrels.  Everyone who meets her loves her and wants to know where I got her.  I highly recommend Guardian Angel to them.  Her foster mother Dana did a great job and she was house broken when she came to me.  She is very smart and is very sweet with other people and dogs.  She and I will begin obedience training next week.  I think we are a good match.  The only problem I have is she doesn't like it when I play the piano.  I am not sure what that means.  Perhaps she is even a smarter dog than I thought or she doesn't like my taste in music!  Here is a picture of her in the yard with her favorite toy, "baby."

Thanks for rescuing "my baby."  I hope before too long to start looking for her a companion.  I think she would enjoy a "sister" and I know just where to find her!!

Happy Ending for a puppy that was nearly destroyed due to a bad case of mange.

UPDATE ON KOJACK

This puppy was brought to a local Memphis animal hospital in early 2003 by a citizen who came across this poor stray pup suffering from a bad case of mange. When this person found out the condition was contagious they made the decision to euthanize the puppy.  They paid for the injection & left, but did tell the vet if he could find anyone to take the pup it would be alright with them.  Well, when the vet called us and we found out they were about to kill him, we sent a volunteer immediately and took him to another vet clinic where he stayed for many weeks until his condition cleared. The money for his boarding and treatment came from donations (including the money meant for his euthansia.)  Donations SAVE lives. Just ask KoJack

I would like to update you on Kojack whose name I changed to Rex when I adopted him in Feb. 2003.  He is the smartest dog I have ever known.  I talk to him all the time and he knows everything I say to him.  We play toys every night as he drags out each of his toys one at a time, plays with it awhile, and then gets another one.  Rex just went to his checkup today and got his boaster shots.   He weighed 60lbs., an increase of 4 lbs. from last year, and the vet said to try to keep him at that.  When I look at that picture of him as a puppy with the mange tears come into my eyes.  Thank you for saving him and getting us together.  He is a big part of my life and is loved so much.  I am attaching several current pictures of him to this e-mail.  Hopefully you will be able to download them and see REX (KOJACK) TODAY as he is in his forever home.  Thank you again.    Rex's mommy,  Sue Keiser, NJ

Hello Angel People!
And that you truly are.
Attached are some pictures of MacGregor (formerly known as "Scotty", fostered by Pat and posted in February of 07).  Mac came to us in April of 2007.  He is the perfect dog for us.  He loves to take walks and knows the word "trip" which means he gets to go in the car - where he has his own doggie seat. :-)  Sometimes the trip is just to a store or to the dog park, but he has taken two really long trips all the way to East TN to visit grandma and grandpa!  He loved all those mountain smells!
All our friends always talk about how well trained he is - I wish we could take credit, but he just seemed to come that way. Some people say we rescued him, but I think he has really rescued us.  How did we ever live without our boy???
Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do. We tell everybody who asks about him to check you guys out.  We really can't say thank you enough for our guy.  Now we're a family!

Hi this is Brett & Renea May of Hernando Ms. We adopted her back on June 23rd from Guardian Angel and we wanted to let you know how she is doing. I had honestly never paid any attention to Wet nose Wednesday until one morning I just happen to hear that ya'll were featuring a Beagle mix. I have always loved Beagles and my Husband had a Cream Chow that he had dropper fed and she would have been 11 this coming January if we hadn't lost her to Renal failure in November of 2005. We had already fostered/adopted a little Tri Beagle that is our Daisy in 2002 and we had no idea that Daisy came into our home dying of distemper. We have no doubt in our minds that if it hadn't been for our Missy being such a Wonderful, loving and caring dog that Daisy wouldn't have survived at all. She let Daisy into our home and our hearts and never stopped mothering her until the day we lost her. She would honestly wake us 3-4 times of a night cleaning on Daisy and checking her to make sure she was alright. We honestly went thru living hell trying to get her well and when I was on my last trip that my heart could take , we took her into the vet and I told him we had no choice but to put her down and he said "Ms. May lets try one more round of meds and then we will leave it in God's hands". Needless to say, she is still living. breathing, loving, barking and now bossing Princess around and being the alpha dog of the May household!! My husbands heart couldn't take letting another one in and all I knew to do was pray. Once we lost Missy, I knew Daisy was grieving and becoming more and more depressed, but I wasn't going to argue with my husband and I knew how much he loved and missed our Missy. Then I heard about Wet nose Wednesday, I logged your website and I found Princess which is now Lucy May! We are so proud and pleased with her. She is another gift from God. Daisy had gotten a little over weight, but now they both weigh the same and are so Beautiful to look at. She is a perfect fit for our family. You see we don't have Children, our Girls are our Children. I just felt that you should know that Princess has been adopted since June and she has the best care that any dog in the world could ever receive. Thank you so much for Wet nose Wednesday and bringing us our little girl.

Sincerely The May Family

Hi Debbie, thought you might enjoy an update on "Avery."

She is wonderful . . . I named her Jasmine Hope and call her Jas (pronounced Jazz).  She loves her new home and is so happy.  She has gained weight and it even  seems like she has more hair.  Her doctor said she is in good health.  We have done a good job keeping her allergies under control -- much better than I thought we would.  She sleeps all night long and loves people and other pets.  She loves her two sisters in Texas and we have made several trips home to see them and they have visited us in Memphis.  She has a wonderful personality and loves to be held, cuddled, and kissed -- of course, I love that!  She is fun, funny, sweet, and loving . . . I feel so blessed to be her Mom.  Did I mention that she is highly intelligent?  Well, she is.  We love each other very much and we thank you for all the work you do to help these babies.  Thank you.  Have a great week.  Better go; she is lying by my feet as I type this and wants to be held . . . Bev

P.S.  I get tons of compliments on how cute she is . . . of course, I totally agree.

Barbara,

I know you come in contact with thousands of people, and you may or may not
remember us, but I had to share this darling photo with you.

My husband, Charlie, and I adopted this little poodle from you in November
2002. She was believed to had been hit by a car and had "breathing
problems" and was turned in to the Shelter on Tchulahoma and "rescued" by a
female veterinarian, who took her home with her and called you. She was
temporarily named "Monique" by you. We met you in the parking lot one night
at the Cloverleaf Shopping Center and immediately fell in love with this
cute little baby. She was so dirty and matted that you guys had to shave
her completely and we had to keep a sweater on her pink skin during the
winter months.

My parents drove from Las Vegas and took her home with them at Christmas
2002. She was "Sugar Helson" and appeared on your website as "living the
good life in Vegas".

This year has been a rough one for Sugar's parents..my father passed away in
March, and my mother was in the hospital at the same time. I had to fly out
there and fly Sugar back with me...she managed to fly (and First Class too!)
with me in the cabin and did not make a sound throughout the flight...Sugar
is now living with Charlie and I and our other two dogs and birds....I have
had to move my mother back here.she has been living with us but may be going
to an Assisted Living or Nursing home after a lengthy hospital stay
recently....Sugar is the smartest little thing we have ever seen...she
"barks" when she wants to eat or go outside, my mother taught her to "wipe
her feet" after going outside, before coming back in the house, and she will
"wipe her feet"..my mother also taught her to get on the floor and "crawl"
to her, and she actually crawls like a baby..my parents have had a lot of
pets over their 60 year marriage, and they said that Sugar has been the best
pet they ever had..she certainly has been good for them for the past few
years and really kept them going.

I wanted to give you an update to let you know that Sugar is back in
Tennessee...instead of living the good life in Vegas, she is now living the
good life in Germantown !!!

We will be coming to the Wet Nose 5K Run, but will probably be bringing just
Happy, our other poodle...we are afraid that Sugar will be too nervous
around so many other dogs, and Tiffany, our Pekingese, is older and would
have a difficult time...

Will see you there,

Leslie and Charlie Gallagher

I figured I would take a moment to send you a picture of my sweet pooch Jack Huxtible Eubanks and tell you how he is doing. We found Jack at one of the pet days out side of Petco in Bartlet two years ago.

I was apprehensive at first because of his coloring. He looks as if he has pit bull. I have heard so many horror stories of pits going crazy that I didn't know what to think. He also barked at me and that made me not like him even more.

My husband said, let's take him out of the cage and walk him around. Well let me say that is all it took. Jack is super friendly with everyone. (Especially children) He just can't get enough of them. I have several nieces and nephews that come over and play with him. He goes from nap time dog, to party dog in 2 seconds.

Two weeks ago we decided to try him out at Heber Springs with us. He has seen lakes before but Heber just made him go bananas! Soon as he heard the water he stopped in his tracks and his ears went up! It was all I could do to keep up with him.

He loves to go for bike rides with me and loves to walk in the evenings. He is great with other dogs but sometimes bald guys scare him. He begins to whine. He also is a great guard dog. I can once again leave food on the picnic table with out the neighborhood cats walking off with my food. Course I do keep one eye on the Jackster. He is a sucker for garlic bread. ((:

I think what you guys are doing is wonderful. Keep up the good work. When ever any one is looking for a good pet, I try to send them your way first. Nothing more loving than a dog who has been rescued.

Hi Barbara and Family,

Hopefully your email is still the same and you will get my note. Don't know
if you continue to have an adoption service or not. Hopefully God has been
good to you in return for your being good to the animals.

My husband retired from FedEx in 2003. We sold our home in Bartlett in
August of 2004, I quit work at FedEx, and we moved to Fairview, Arkansas.
Fairview is a little community between Flippin and Bull Shoals. We have 30
acres and hollowed out a small place in the middle of it to build our house.
We are quite remote! Love every second of it!

I just wanted to give you an update and another "Thank You" for helping us
find Dolly! We are still loving our baby Dolly. I have attached a picture
of her and what she looks like now. (Still as adorable as she ever was!)
She is pretty much the same. Weighs 24 lbs, healthy as a horse and loves to
chase the animals here. We have lots of deer, wild turkeys, squirrels,
raccoons and all the rest of the critters you would find in the country.
She was 8 years old in May according to the information we got when we
adopted her. She is still very active, loves to play ball and always wants
to help me in the garden. She is the love of our lives. She always goes
with us everywhere we go. If she can't go, we don't go! We boarded her one
time for 3 nights when we first got her, back in 2002. What misery that was
for us! We came home one day early just to get her out before the weekend!
We have been happy ever since!

Also attached a picture of our home in the wilderness.

God bless all of you!

Marny, Joseph and Dolly too!

Our family just wanted to thank you guys for the
wonderful puppy that we adopted through your
organization.  We adopted Ariel #1336 about 2 1/2
weeks ago and already she is sooo spoiled.  She has
been a great joy to us as also a wonderful addition to
our family of 3 cats.  Everyone who meets her falls
immediately in love with her after looking into her
eyes.

We also want to tell you what a great experience the
whole process was and especially thanks  to Sherry
Wade who was fostering the puppies.  She is truly the
sweetest lady.  She was very accomadating to us when
we wanted to come and have a visit with the puppies.

Thanks to you all.  We love Ariel(we did change her
name to Cayce though).  We have enclosed a few pics to
show you how happy she is and is fitting right in.

Thanks Again,

I was just thinking about writing to you.  Comet is doing great. He has adjusted so well.  He sleeps with Sydney (the 8 year old) every night.  He loves to take walks and tug on play socks.  He has turned out to be just what we wanted.  When we go outside, he just stays with us.  He is not a runner.  Thanks again for finding him for us.  Our oldest, Shannon , just had some foot surgery.  She is on bedrest for 3 days and right now he is snuggled on the bed with her.  He just wants to be in someone's lap or right beside them.  If you are ever in the area, come on by.  See you, Cheryl

UPDATE ON CASEY

Date: Feb 12, 2007 9:31 AM
Subject: Casey with her new parents!

Casey is now the true princess of Tracy and Seth Grandeau in Massachusetts!  I've talked with them several times since they got her on Saturday.  They think Casey can do no wrong LOL!  When they arrived home on Saturday, Casey ate a supper of boiled chicken and green beans.  Yesterday's supper was cooked lean hamburger with rice and squash LMAO!  she gets home cooked suppers every day :)

Casey has a plush pink princess dog bed that she loves dearly.  She was shy when they got home for a little while, but, when Tracy was typing on the computer, Casey sneaked into the room and laid her head in Tracy's lap so that was great progress.  Casey also has been on several walks in their neighborhood and to the nearby dog park; she met all the neighbors and as of yesterday went straight to the neighbors with no hesitation to say hi and let them all pet her.  again, this is major progress for Casey.

Casey's new dad, Seth, owns his own printing company not far from their home and today Casey is going to work with him to get some socialization, as people will be coming in and out all day and meeting her.  all his employees and customers knew that Casey was coming and they all are anxious to meet her.
